A quorum was not met for the September 17, 2020 meeting of the Prince Rupert Labour Council. This provided time for informal discussion on the priorities and vision of the delegates. We discussed the need for building community, raising the visibility of the labour movement in town, broadening to a more regional role, and standing up for economic justice for everyone in the communities of the North Coast region. We also discussed ways to increase engagement by local labour leaders. The meeting provided a path forward for reenergizing the Labour Council and it proved useful to have a less formal format for the meeting. The official business of the meeting will be carried over to the next regular meeting in November.
